How to Protect A USB Drive By Password?

Method 1

Follow these steps:

·         • Plug-in your USB drive to your computer.
·
·         • Run Folder Lock and click the 'New' tab.
·
·         • Click the ‘Browse’ button next to Locker path field and select the USB path from the file browser and choose a file name below. So that a Locker can be created in the USB drive itself.
·
·         • Now set and confirm a new password for this locker and click ‘OK’
·
• To add files and folders you want to protect click 'Add files & folders' and then click 'Encrypt Now

Method 2
Password protected USB drive using Folder Lock's ‘Portability’ feature. To use this method to protect USB Drive, follow these simple steps:

·         • Run Folder Lock and enter correct password.
·
·         • Click 'Portability' button on the left pane of the program's UI.
·
·         • Now to choose the transfer method click either 'Move to USB Drive' or 'Copy to USB Drive' depending upon whether you want your Locker to be moved or copied to the USB Drive.
·
·         • Now select the particular USB drive from a list of drive selection option. This list will show all the portable / external drives attached to your computer. Select the one in which you want protection.

After using any of the above two methods, Folder Lock prompts you with a Portable Security message. If you choose 'Yes', Folder Lock will create an AutoPlay password protection for this drive. An executable FL USB.exe will be copied along with your Locker that will run automatically whenever you plug-in your USB drive to any computer. It will ask for the Locker's location and correct password to open your Locker.

This means you do not have to install Folder Lock again when you move your USB drive from one computer to another. If you have AutoPlay feature disabled, you can run FL USB.exe directly to open your Lockers in your portable drive through any computer. This feature is only available in the full version of Folder Lock.

Folder Lock USB Console 6.2.0
In the trial version of Folder Lock this feature is disabled. Those users who are using trial version of Folder Lock will have to install Folder Lock again on other computers to open their lockers.

On a computer where Folder Lock is already installed, you can simply plug in the USB Drive and double click the Locker or browse the Locker Path and then enter your password to get full access to your files and folders protected inside the Locker.
