Spyware Removers downloads Guide

First of all, I can't tell you how hard it is to find a good program that is small, light, and can run on all of our computers, even Windows 7. It works in the background and makes sure that no bad Active X controls infect your computer. It gives you a variety of options for working with Internet Explorer and configuring your internet protection. It also provides cookie support for Firefox, and I have noticed a decrease in the amount of tracking cookies in my FF's temp since installing it.

However, it shouldn't be your only antispyware protection. First of all, it's not truly "real-time" because it only protects you against Active X and tracking cookies. Second, it doesn't have a scanner. I use mine in conjunction with Arovax Antispyware, which has an excellent tracking cookie scanner and has weeded dozens of cookies out in the past but lacks any real-time protection. Most likely, your antivirus has built-in real-time antispyware coverage (mine does), and it's best to use this software as back-up protection.

Finally, while it does support IE and Firefox, I can't say it does any other browsers for sure. It doesn't cover Opera (my favorite), and probably not Safari for Windows. I don't know if it does Chrome. If you use any other browsers very often then this may not be too useful to you.

Overall, install it and forget it (but check back occasionally for updates). But you should probably have a scanner and more than one of these little programs handy just in case.
